Overview Details Anvil Mews, Stamford 'Anvil Mews' is a development of ten new townhouses situated just outside the old town wall, close to the centre of the market town of Stamford. The homes needed to be sensitively designed in stone in keeping with the traditional vernacular of Stamford. However, it was required that they have a modern twist with contemporary internal layouts as well as courtyard gardens. The site proved to have many technical challenges; these included Party Wall issues, dramatic changes in levels requiring the incorporation of retaining structures within the new homes, as well as the general challenges of working on a constrained site within a busy town.
